My client is a regional Shopfitting contractor with sites spanning the UK specific within the leisure an tourist sectors a family run business which has been actively trading uninterrupted since 1954 specialising in the refurbishment and construction of:

  • Pubs & Bars
  • Restaurants
  • Fitness clubs/ Gyms/ spas etc
  • Hotels
  • Schools and offices
  • Holiday Park amenities

They are looking for site managers for a permanent full-time position within their company, who will be fully responsible for managing construction projects on site from start to finish, safely, on programme and within budget.

Site management is a highly valued, key position in our company and much of our success is dependent on our site managers performance.

The position involves;

  • Fast track fit out projects, refurbishment/ remodel projects and new build projects.
  • The contracts range between anything from £50K up to £5M and their durations are typically anything from between 2 weeks to 9 months. The projects are situated nationwide.

The candidate must have the following as a minimum:

  • A full UK driving licence with no more than 3 current penalty points
  • A valid CSCS card (management level)
  • A valid first aid training certificate
  • A valid SMSTS training certificate
  • A valid Asbestos Awareness certificate

The position includes a company van, smartphone and laptop/ tablet. (All for work use only)

The ideal candidate:

  • Will have extensive knowledge of Health and Safety within the construction industry and be confident in enforcing both H+S legislation and company policies on site.
  • Will have excellent communication skills and be able to work well in a team environment.
  • Will be highly experienced and effective in managing shopfitting and refurbishment works as well as extensions and new builds.
  • Will be able to read and fully understand technical drawings/ specifications.
  • Will be able to deal directly with members of the client and design team in a helpful and professional manner.
  • Will be able to follow, manage and (where possible) accelerate construction programmes.
  • Will be willing to travel and work away frequently.
  • Will be willing to work weekends where required.
  • Will be reliable and punctual.
  • Will be clean and presentable.
  • Will be computer literate.
  • A construction trade background is preferred but not essential.
