Role Profile
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be charged with the implementation and promotion of lean and continuous improvement activities throughout the company. This person reporting to the Engineering Manager will lead maintenance and improvement activities through best practice methodology. It is essential that the role holder strives to find the balance between most efficient / effective solution while balancing cost and material / resource wastage to a minimum which will further the business and its objectives.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Design, develop and maintain automated / standalone manufacturing processes and equipment, jigs and fixtures etc. to meet project requirements and safety standards
To support and develop continuous improvement of current process to improve efficiency and productivity
Compile and support the writing of relevant documentation including risk assessments, production work instructions to ensure safe working practices
Maintain a record of all documentation, including drawings, sketches, calculations, records etc. ensuring a full history of process and product evolution is documented.
Ability to oversee or support in process modifications and tooling change overs.
Implement repair and modification work to site facilities and equipment including electrical wiring and service installation work.
Complete all development and maintenance tasks set in an appropriate manner and feedback to computerised management system (Pirana).
Self-disciplined, demonstrate knowledge of 5S, lean and HS&E practices.
Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
Responsible for driving specific projects assigned and meeting agreed project targets.

Time served qualification in a Manufacturing / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering discipline (Degree / HNC level with +8 years on the job experience).
17th / 18th Edition Electrical wiring qualification (preferred but not essential) & experience in installing basic single / three phase electrical circuits.
Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings / schematic diagrams
Strong practical and problem solving ability.
Design level experience of PLC’s and / or Control system programming especially Siemens S7 & UR 6 axis robots.
Experience of process systems such as bowl feeding, walking beam and pick and place.
Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings / schematic diagrams.
Experience in pneumatics for equipment construction and maintenance.
Conversant with Microsoft office
Ability to operate workshop equipment such as Lathes, Milling Machines etc.
Legislative standard implementable experience of machineries directive and equipment building requirements
